WHY KISMET LABRADOODLES?

Available PuppiesText Us

Bringing home a new puppy isn’t just getting a dog, it’s adding a new member to your family. Unlike family, which you sort of fall into, you get to choose a puppy.

We believe there is a perfect puppy for you, a perfect match, that’s why we’re Kismet Labradoodles, specializing in bringing you the dog that is your kismet, the puppy you’re destined to have.

Kismet is fate, but with a Labradoodle, it’s that serendipitous match of the perfect puppy for her perfect human.

Let me share with you some of what makes us different and why you should choose Kismet Labradoodles!

Every Puppy Gets Individual Attention

As a small breeder we are able to focus on every puppy individually with personalized attention to their development early on. Many larger breeders simply have too many dogs to know each puppy individually, they rely on temperament testing with limited interaction to evaluate their dogs and align them with families. For us, while we do use temperament testing tools and scoring, we have found that is only one piece of the puzzle. It helps to understand reactivity and curiosity, independence v. codependence, but it doesn’t give us as complete a picture, it doesn’t help us understand why Mocha loves tiny tennis balls, when Latte loves her rope toy. We don’t just evaluate our pups, we know them.

Aside from aligning you with the perfect pup, quirks and all, we are able to provide each puppy with a learning environment that tailored to them. The first eight weeks are critical in their development. It sets the stage for the rest of their lives. During this time they learn to trust humans, and their interaction with the breeder will set the tone for the way they will interact with your family. This is not something we take lightly.

We know that your puppy is family, we raise them with this in mind. We want them to start out in our family, so they are ready for your family, loving humans and thriving off their interaction with you and yours.

Lifetime Support

We are here for the lifetime support. Our puppies are not numbers to us – they are family members raised for the needs and the lifestyle of the family they were bred for. We believe in being there for you, whether you aren’t sure if you should take your dog to the vet or if you aren’t sure if the dog treats you’re picking up will be a good choice for your dog, just shoot me a text! I’m more than happy to help you figure it out.

You’re in the driver seat, we’re just a GPS, we will fully respect your decisions for your dog. Just the same, we don’t want you to feel you have to figure all this out by yourself, that’s why we’re here!

In addition to being there for questions or concerns throughout the life of your dog, we will also take any of our dogs back at any age, in any condition.

Precise Nourishment of Mind & Body

As a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition (DCN) I often see interest in a “perfect diet.” Just like the perfect diet does not exist for humans, there is no perfect dog food out there. Rather than look for the “perfect diet” for puppies and dogs, we should be looking for a diet that is complete, balanced, and wholesome.

Diet comes from the Greek word “diaita” which means “way of life.” A diet is not about weight loss or achieve some fancy fitness goal, rather it’s the way we nourish through food and lifestyle choices. In taking care of our adult breeding dogs and our puppies, we focus on this way of life. How we can live a rich and fulfilling life through better choices in nutrition and activities, but also through emotional wellbeing. Our dogs are a part of our family, just like we want our puppies to be a part of yours. This is why we focus on meeting our breeding dogs’ needs.

In the nutrition-coach world, we call this primary and secondary nutrition: primary nutrition is the food you put in your body, while secondary nutrition is met through lifestyle, choosing to engage in nourishing activities and connections, while choosing to avoid things that interfere with our ability to heal. We recognize there are many benefits to having a dog: they create that connection for us, nourishing our emotional and mental state, bringing a smile to our face; in exchange, we owe them the best we can offer, so they, too, can enjoy a well-nourished life.
